Today, I decided I’d stop putting off getting my textbook list around. Turns out, I’ll be shelling out almost 500 dollars for
textbooks, this quarter. Ridiculous, right?
Everyone knows that most colleges are misers when it comes to getting as much money as possible out of every student, but now many colleges are going a step further. They are requiring students to by “special edition” textbooks availible only through the university bookstore, eliminating the chance of finding that same textbook on a site such as amazon or ebay for a more realistic price.
Last year, however, I did manage to strike a figurative gold mine. I bought one of my textbooks from amazon for a mere 45 greenbacks. It was in excellent condition and looked brand new. At the end of the quarter, the university bought it from me for, get this, 70 bucks. It felt nice to stick it to the proverbial man, and of course to have an extra 25 dough in my pocket.
…and if you’ve been counting the number of synonyms I’ve used to describe legal tender, it’s up to 5.
Have a great Tuesday, and don’t let those textbook blues get you down!
